An historic area located 9 kms N of Trunkey Creek in the locality of Arkell.

Origin

Long Swamp was a postal mining village surrounded by the Grove Carrawa and Bucks Creeks. An agricultural and mining district. Mining in the proclaimed gold fields of Trunkey Creek and Grove Creek. The National School est. 1862 a Commodities Store and two hotels serviced the population of 200. (Source: NSW Gazettier 1866)
