Tregeagle (LOCALITY), NSW Details
History
Once known as Boggy Creek the name was changed to Tregeagle after the name of Mr C Ansteys selection. (Reference as aboce).

A village about 7 km ESE of Lismore. Boundaries within the Lismore Council area shown on map GNB3628.
Origin
Aboriginal. Said to be derived from Bundjalung Dirrigeagle for a kind of gorse and is not related to any event concerning a tree and an eagle. (Richmond Tweed Regional Library &Richmond River Historical Society. 1983)
