Richmond River (RIVER), NSW Details
Description
A perennial stream rising on the southern slopes of McPherson Range to the W of Mount Lindesay. It flows generally SE for about 130 km to the town of Woodburn where its general direction of flow becomes NE approximately parallel to the coast for about another 40 km until it enters the Pacific Ocean at Ballina. It passes the towns of Casino and Kyogle on its course.

Discovered August 1828. Named by Captain Henry Rous after Charles the fifth Duke of Richmond P. 12. (Infr. from Men and A River - Daley)
