A perennial tributary of Salisbury Waters having its source 25.7 km north-east of Armidale and flowing thence generally south to the towns of Hillgrove and Metz and thence south-south-east to its junction with Salisbury Waters about 27-28 km south-south-east of Armidale where the combined stream receives the identity of Macleay River.
