Description
A reserve located around Pickett Hill at Pickett Hill. It covers an area of 122.10 ha and occupies Lot 2 of DP 811205. Originally assigned by GNB as Nungumirar Aboriginal Area reassigned by NPWS with current name.
Meaning
`Nungumirar` is from the local Gumbaynggir language group. It means `a special place of kangaroos`. The locality is the main location of an important Aboriginal mythology involving events in the Dreamtime. (NPWS File Letter from Min for Env to local MP 19 May 1993)
