This locality was known and spelt as `Piccabeen until the Edwardian area when the spelling 1Piggabeen gradually took over.Hanlon asserts that this was recognition ofthe pron. of the word by Tweed aborigines.

A bounded address locality. A locality about 8km W by S of Tweed Head on the NSW/Qld border. Boundaries within the Tweed Council area are shown on map GNB3810. Also assigned as a rural place. Boundaries within the Tweed Council area shown on map GNB3810.

Meaning
