History
Dungarubba was once known as Dingarubba and Unkaruba. (Richmond Tweed Regional Library & Richmond River Historical Society. 1983).
Description
A village about 2 km NW by W of Rileys Hill. And about 6km WNW of the town of Broadwater. Boundaries within the Lismore Council area shown on map GNB3628.
Meaning
Said to mean: flat swampy country. Note that dehnga means paper bark tree which grows in flat swampy country. (Refernce as above). Also: swampy (J.S.Ryan; 1963)
