A flat situated about 5 km NE of Bathurst about 2 km NNE of Rutherford Trig. Station.
Origin
Named by Surveyor G W Evans in December 1813 when he wrote: I am at a loss for language to describe the country. I named this part Macquarie Plains.(Surveyor Evans diary note 8 December 1813) (Information from Fourteen Journeys Over the Blue Mts. of N.S.W. 1813-1841 - George Mackaness Page 24)
