Description
An area situated on the western side of the New England Highway approx. 1.5 km north of Sandy Flat.
Origin
Just prior to and for several years after World War I the Sandy Flat Rifle Range operated on a designated area on the western side of the New England Highway. The area has been known locally as the the Rifle Range Hill since that time. Source: Tenterfield Southern Communities Historical Group.
