Established 29.8.1977 by Patrick Potts a Piling Overseer employed by the then Central Mapping Authority. It consists of a concrete observ- ing pillar surmounted by a mast and vanes.

A trig. station 1.7 km WSW of Munghorn Gap and 6 km NE of Cooyal. TS5928

Munghorn Trig. Station is named due to its proximity to Munghorn Gap and its location within Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve.
