History
Geology Southern Coal Fields Report Harper 1916. NSW Mining records. There is no formal track into the site and given the UXO issue it is inappropriate to identify one. The site was never anything but explor.
Description
A partly perennial stream rising on Little Forest Plateau about 2.5 km S of Kangaroo Hill. It flows generally S for about 5 km into Claydons Creek.
Origin
William Rixon discovered coal in Clyde River 1883. Test exploration conducted. Site is within the former high impact artillery bombardment area where Defence Dept have recommended there be no walking away from formally identified tracks and trails. Names on maps tend to encourage interest and activity. See Source information In History.
