How do Self-Closing JSX Tags Work?

So in JSX all the tags must be closed, other wise it can break the element.

for example: <div> must have a closing </div> and also for elements like <br> and <hr> must include the /.

So make sure you do your single elements with a / at the end, like <br /> and <hr /> rather than the normal html versions of them.

HTML

<div id="root"></div>

    <h2>Welcome to React!</h2> <br />
    <p>Be sure to close all tags!</p>
    <hr />
  </div>
);
ReactDOM.render(JSX, document.getElementById('root'))
</script>

Random CSS Property

:host()

The :host() CSS pseudo-class function selects the shadow host of the shadow DOM containing the CSS it is used inside (so you can select a custom element from inside its shadow DOM) — but only if the selector given as the function's parameter matches the shadow host.
