Add font awesome icons as placeholder text in inputs

An old one i found on codepen, works with only the old version of font awesome i think. Not tested on the later versions.

HTML

<link href="//netdna.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.1.0/css/font-awesome.min.css" rel="stylesheet">

<textarea placeholder='&#xf075; Add Comment'></textarea>

<br>

<input type='text' placeholder='&#xf02b; Some Input Text'></input>

CSS

  padding:10px;
	font-family: FontAwesome, "Open Sans", Verdana, sans-serif;
    font-style: normal;
    font-weight: normal;
    text-decoration: inherit;
