padding-block-end

The padding-block-end CSS property defines the logical block end padding of an element, which maps to a physical padding depending on the element's writing mode, directionality, and text orientation.

Syntax

/* <length> values */ padding-block-end: 10px;      /* An absolute length */ padding-block-end: 1em;       /* A length relative to the text size */  /* <percentage> value */ padding-block-end: 5%;        /* A padding relative to the block container's width */  /* Global values */ padding-block-end: inherit; padding-block-end: initial; padding-block-end: revert; padding-block-end: unset;

Values

<length>

The size of the padding as a fixed value. Must be nonnegative.

<percentage>

The size of the padding as a percentage, relative to the inline-size of the containing block. Must be nonnegative.

Description

The padding-block-end property is defined in the specification as taking the same values as the padding-top property. However, the physical property it maps to depends on the values set for writing-mode, direction, and text-orientation. Therefore, it could map to padding-bottom, padding-right, or padding-left

It relates to padding-block-start, padding-inline-start, and padding-inline-end, which define the other paddings of the element.

@charset

The @charset CSS at-rule specifies the character encoding used in the style sheet. It must be the first element in the style sheet and not be preceded by any character; as it is not a nested statement, it cannot be used inside conditional group at-rules. If several @charset at-rules are defined, only the first one is used, and it cannot be used inside a style attribute on an HTML element or inside the <style> element where the character set of the HTML page is relevant.
