Name bestowed by explorer George Evans in 1815 (Source Scott E Book2 - Australian Discovery by Land iv. Evans Discovery of the Lachlan.
Description
A hill rising about 140 metres from Evans Plains Creek. It is about 5 km S by E of Newbridge and about 10 km E by N of Barry.
Meaning
Named after ANTILL HENRY COLDEN (1779-1852) soldier and settler who in 1799 was promoted Lieutenant and became associated with Captain Lachlan Macquarie with whom he formed a firm friendship. (Source Australian Dictionary of Biography).
