Established about 1969 by surveyors from the Metropolitan Water Sewerage and Drainage Board (MWS&DB) as part of the Kangaroo Valley Triangulation Network.

A trig. station located on the eastern escarpment of the Illawarra Range 2 km WSW of Calderwood 5 km WNW of Mount Johnston and 3 km NNW of Tongarra in the suburb of Avon. TS1352
Origin
Named for its location adjacent to the Parish of Calderwood and the fact that it overlooks Calderwood to the East.
