Description

A gully rising about 250 m west of Dora Trig. Station in the suburb of Sunshine and flowing generally south then south-east for approx. 1.25 kilometres into Lake Macquarie.

Origin

Named after Emily Jane Hampson (dob 1888 - dod 1977) who was the postmistress/shop keeper Mirra View Post Office from 1 Oct 1945 to 30 Nov 1971. Mrs Hampsons shop stood adjacent to the source of the gully at Mirra View (now known as Sunshine). The gully flows into a bay locally known as Hampsons Bay.
