Origin
John Hurst Edmondson (08.10.1914 - 14.04.1941) was born at Wagga Wagga. At the outbreak of World War 11 he volunteered and went to the Middle East in 1941. During the Battle of Tobruk he lost his life and became the first Australian to win the Victoria Cross in this war. (Liverpool Library notes 19.02.1999)
