History
Name recorded on 1971 Parish of St George map and 1960 Town Planning map of the Municipality of Bankstown. This name was brought to the Boards attention by Bankstown Historical Society.
Description
A triangular reserve on the corner of Wilga and Mulga streets Punchbowl. It occupies Lot 15 of DP 11234.
Origin
Named after a brother and sister - Leonard and Florence Salmon. Sister Florence Aubin Salmon (20.10.1915 - ...02.1942) an Aust Army nurse was one of 22 shot by the Japanese on Radji Beach. Private Leonard John Salmon (12.12.1912 - 14.05.1943) died on the hospital ship the Centaur when it was torpedoed by the Japanese. (See GNB4411)
