History
Name nominated by Neville Davis of Parramatta Councils Parks Division.
Description
A reserve between Redbank Road and Edward Street and bounded on the north by Park Street. It occupies Lot 53 of DP128577.
Origin
Arthur Phillip (1738 - 1814) was appointed Captain- General in 1786 for the expedition to NSW and Governor of the new settlement. He founded Parramatta in 1791. Reserve name reflects the name of the ward in which the reserve is located (Kass T Liston C McClymont J 1996 Parramatta Council publication Parramatta - A Past Revealed)
