Mount Hovell (MOUNTAIN), NSW Details
Description
A mountain rising about 700 metres from Stinking Creek. It is about 6 km SE by S of Bald Hill and about 6 km W of Goat Hill.
Origin
The highest point reached by the two explorers Hume and Hovell on their journey from Gunning to Port Phillip was Baloo Trig Station an unnamed peak on the Bogong Mountain about 20km SE of Tumut.
