Garrawin Gully (GULLY), NSW Details
History
Name proposed by Mr J Madsen in response to the Mangrove Mountain Bicentennial Naming Project. It is supported by the Darkinjung Aboriginal Land Council Gosford Council Forests and NP&WS.
Description
A gully which rises in Por 60 on the western side of Bloodtree Road and flows in a westerly direction into Bull Creek. It is 800 metres in length.
Meaning
Believed to mean land of flowers. (Madsen J owner of property through which the stream flows)
Origin
The gully flows through the Madsens property which is named Garrawin. Mr J Madsen believes from his familys oral history that it is an Aborignal name.
