This Trig Station was placed by the Royal Australian Survey Corps in c1930 and was marked by a RASvyC plaque summounted by mast and vanes.

A Trig Station located at Mowbray Park. It is 6 km W by NW from Picton Post Office 6km N by NE from Thirlmere Railway Station and 2.5km NE from Lakesland.
Origin
This Trig Station was named for its proximity to Barnardos Home for homeless children which was set up by Dr Thomas Barnardos (1845 - 1905).
