History
Irish in JRAHS V. 13 (Railway Station Names) does not mention the source from which the Railway Department derived the name.
Description
A railway station 9.5 km west of the town of Colly Blue.
Meaning
Yannergee = Walk Walking ( Welchman (warathera) and other sources. Also Quirindi District Historical Society Members.)
Origin
The Werris Creek - Binnaway Line was opened in 1924. Earlier use of Yannergee as a place name has not been encountered.
