Wade Gully (GULLY), NSW Details
Description
A non perennial stream rising about 1 km north of the locality of Fosterton and about 2 km south-west of Fosterton Trig. Station. It flows generally west for about 0.5 km into Newell Creek.
Origin
Named after early settler William Wade (21.06.1827-31.08.1907) who arrived in Australia in 1839. Acquired land in Fosterton area and had interests in church and education. Many decendants still live in Dungog area including great-grandson W.M. Lean who lives at Fosterton. (Information supplied by W.M. Lean on 25 November 1999).
