Name changed from Kings Creek to King Creek at the request of residents and Council on 19 January 2007.

A locality about 6 km south of Wauchope. The locality of Lake Innes adjoins to the east. Boundaries within the Hastings Council area shown on map GNB3772.
Origin
John Oxley named the waterway Kings River on 4 October 1818 after marine surveyor Phillip Parker King.
