Gogs Top Creek (CREEK), NSW Details
History
This name appears to have been incorrectly shown on the first edition topographic of 1974 as Gogs Creek. In 1999 Scone Shire Council confirmed the name Gogs Top Creek as known and in use.
Description
A partly perennial creek rising about 2.5 km NE of Mount Gog and 16.5 km SE of Barry (locality). It flows generally ENE for about 9 km to its confluence with the Barnard River.
Origin
Possibly named after Matthew Buscall Goggs. (Scone and Upper Hunter Historical Society letter of 24 March 1999). For further information see file GNB4611.
