History
The land once open space and used as a dip site for cattle now houses a museum the relocated old Mullumbimby Post Office and static exhibits of the past history of the Brunswick Valley.

A reserve approx. 5.74 ha in area comprising Lot 389 DP 728162 accessed from Stuart St Byron St Cedar St and Oleander St in the suburb of Mullumbimby.
Origin
Named in recognition of Mr Maurie Summers contribution to the development of the Brunswick Valley Historical Society the museum and the community in general. Mr Summers has been Byron Shire Citizen of the Year in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the community.
