History
1866 Stoney Creek flowed through J Pipers 410 ha selection. As there were 97 watercourses called Stoney Creek in NSW a less common name was decided upon.
Description
A locality about 6 km W of Tarana and about 3 km N by W of Sidmouth Valley.
Meaning
For: fish. (McCarthy; 1963).
Origin
Aboriginal. Gemalla PO opened in 1927 and closed in 1970. The Railway Station closed in 1974.
