History
This name appears in Baillieres New South Wales Gazetteer and Road Guide dated 1866.
Description
A watercourse about 106 km long. It rises between Bimberi and Gurrangorambla Ranges about 1 km N of Mount Morgan and flows generally NW then N into Lake Burrinjuck.
Meaning
According to page 1 of the Queanbeyan-Canberra Advocate dated 8 January 1925 the late Mr W Davis Wright...(inter alia) provided the meaning water running over rocks. Wrights father had settled on the Murrumbidgee River in 1835. (Yass Hist Soc 11 Sept 1998)
