The year 2002 marks 150 years since the area was named Black Range and subsequently renamed Lavington around 1908.
Description
A reserve of approx 8 ha comprising Lot 7002 DP1023472 situated between Bungambrawatha Creek and Pearsall Street in the suburb of Lavington. Crown Reserve 49289
Origin
Named to commemorate the settlers and their bullock teams who rested on the area. The only area where bullock teams could rest and water between Albury and the climb to the top of Jindera Gap about 5 kms away. Source: Lavington Historical Society
