History
This reserve is the major active sports ground for the suburb of Glendenning. It has been referred to as Glendenning Reserve for many years. (Blacktown Council naming proposal dated 18 August 1998)
Description
A reserve in two parts in the suburb of Glendenning. The first part extends south from Richmond Road to Winten Drive bounded on the west by Golding Drive and on the east by Dublin Street. The second part extends from Winten Drive south to Keyport Crescent and Glenview Grove. It occupies Lot 3 of DP 827550 and Lot 11 of DP 845491. Reserve 690.
Origin
Named after William Glendenning a butcher who had a shop in Jersey Road Plumpton and who slaughtered stock in Lamb Street near to Owen Street. The name was suggested by Blacktown City Council. (See GNB2605)
