Parry Creek (GULLY), NSW Details
History
Name was proposed by Ronald Gordon Mathews of North Epping as part of the Mangrove Mountain Bicentennial Naming Project.
Description
A gully which rises in an area about 2.9 km S by W of the middle of the Mangrove Creek Dam wall and 5.4 km W by S of Basalt Hill. It is about 1.8 km in length and flows in a generally south-westerly direction into Mangrove Creek.
Origin
In 1840 William Griffith Parry and his wife Mary Ann became the first settlers on Por 28 in the Parish of Kooree. Mary Ann died in 1844 and was buried there. William died in 1859. The gully runs through Por 28. (Mathews R G descendant naming proposal form dated 10 June 1997)
