History
First name was Grahamtown but chnaged to Hainsville in 1891. (Richmond Tweed Regional Library. 1984).

Village about 6 km NNE of Mullumbimby.
Meaning
Also: middle ground (between land and sea) from description of area of open forest hill slopes in which King Parrots may be found but this is not literal meaning of name. Also: meeting of the waters another descriptive meaning. (Richmond Tweed Regional Library. 1984).
