An island on Parramatta River about 4 km S of Lane Cove.
Origin
The Destroyer H.M.A.S. Bataan was conceived and built on this island and launched by Mrs Douglas Macarthur for service in World War Two. The name Bataan was used as a compliment to our American allies. [W H Geary WW2 army verteran and RSL Australia member]
