West Bare (TRIG. STATION), NSW Details
History
Established in May 1940 by Warrant Officers Class 2 Walter Relf and Charles Prince army surveyors from the Royal Australian Survey Corps.
Description
A Trig. Station. situated 1.5 km SW of Butterfly Mountain and 4 km E of Mount Pleasant.
Origin
Relf and Prince described this hill as a a bare hill top only on Butterfly S.W.. They also observed another hill which they described as Bare Ringbarked. To differentiate between these two bare hills they were called East Bare and West Bare.
