History
The park was signposted with the name Granville Soldiers Memorial Park. (Parramatta Council letter 27 Oct 1997) The Board approved the name as Granville Memorial Park on 4 December 1997.
Description
A reserve on the south-eastern side of Memorial Drive at Granville. It occupies lots 21-34 of DP 17572 lots 1 and 9 of DP 510570 Part of Lot 2 of Section C of DP 262830 and Lot 3 of Sec C of DP 111001.
Origin
There is a war memorial in the park that was unveiled in 1922. The parks memorial entrance gates were unveiled in 1962. (Inscriptions on the war memorial and the entrance gate plaque) The park adjoins Granville RSL Club which uses it for memorial services such as ANZAC Day. (Parramatta Council letter 27 Oct 1997)
