Gregory and Greaves Corner (BOUNDARY), NSW Details
Description
The eastern end of the straight boundary between New South Wales and Queensland where the 29th parallel intersects the median line of the Barwon River near Mungindi.
Origin
The corner acknowledges the contributions of two surveyors. Sir Augustus Charles Gregory (1819-1905) a reknowned explorer and the first Queensland Surveyor General and William Albert Braylesford Greaves (1829-1925) a NSW district surveyor in surveying and marking parts of the border.
