Ropes Creek (CREEK), NSW Details
Description
A watercourse about 23 km long. It rises about 1 km west of Devils Back Tunnel and flows generally north into South Creek.
Origin
Named after Anthony Rope a convict who arrived with the First Fleet in 1788. It is assumed that Rope held land somewhere along the banks of the creek. (Place names & origins in Penrith Penrith City Council Library 1982).
