Description
A western suburb of the city of Lithgow bounded on the N E and W by Farmers Creek and the suburbs of Littleton and Cooerwull to the S. Boundaries within the Lithgow Council area shown on map GNB3689.
Origin
Named after a man called Bowen who had a fall or either broke or seriously injured his leg at the rear of the residence now occupied by the Cooke family. (from The Surveyor Journal P.101 Aug.1922) First names Bowens Hollow then Bowenfells. Afterwards an L was taken out to distinguish it from Cooerwell. (same reference)
