History
Official birth on 18th October 1872 when an area of one square mile (259 hectares) was reserved for village purposes. (Richmond Tweed Regional LIbrary. 1984).

A town on the Brunswick River about 17 km NW of Cape Byron and 6 km W of Brunswick Heads Boundaries shown on map marked GNB 3744
Meaning
For: small round hill - not referring to Chincogan the local landmark but to hill on Goonengerry Rd. Also: Possibly derived from mulubinba - a native fern. Is possible that name of fern became used for the small round hill. (Richmond Tweed Regional Library. 1984).
