History
Woodlawn was once known as Calico Grass.
Description
A locality on Wilsons Creek about 3.5 km WSW of Bexhill and 4 km NE of Lismore. Boundaries within the Lismore Council area shown on map GNB3628.
Origin
It has been suggested that this is a descriptive name for a grassy area in what was originally thick jungle on the north-west side of Wilsons Creek. (Rich.Twd.Reg.Lib. & Rich.R.Hist.Soc.1983).
