History
Name proposed by Hugh Dowd of Hornsby as part of the Berowra Catchment Management Committees creek naming competition conducted in 1995-96.
Description
A creek which is about 1.5 km in length and flows in a generally NW direction from Forbes Street Hornsby to Waitara Creek.
Origin
Jimmy Bancks (10.05.1889 - 01.07.1952) was the cartoonist who created Ginger Meggs. As a child he lived in Hornsby at the top of the catchment and followed the creek when raiding a local orchard or swimming. Through the series Ginger Meggs Bancks described settings characters and adventures of his own childhood.(There Must Be a River)
