History
According to the Council the area was referred to simply as the Duck River Reserve - Boronia Street.
Description
A reserve occupying lots 277 to 280 and lots 331 to 338 of DP 8264 lots 1 4 and 9 of DP 240925 lot 1 of DP 348425 and lots 1 and 2 of DP 512705. The southern boundary of this reserve is located on Byrnes Street Granville. Duck River forms the eastern boundary. The eastern end of Boronia Street Granville forms part of the western boundary. The reserve contain a formal sports ground for soccer an amenities block floodlighting and natural areas.
Origin
John Horlyck (1928-1995) was the founding member of the park committee that assisted the Council in developing the area for formal sports use. He served on the committee for over 20 years and contributed significantly to the upkeep and maintenance of the area.
