Wright Sportsground (RESERVE), NSW Details
Description
A recreation reserve in East Queanbeyan on the north side of Old Sydney Road and south of Elizabeth Crescent.
Origin
Mr Wright was Queanbeyans first Mayor in 1885 at which time Queanbeyan was proclaimed a municipality. Mr Wright was a prominent townsman and business man and conducted a store in town and he was the first local resident to represent Queanbeyan in Parliament. He died in 1904.
