John Ives (26.9.1920 - 25.6.1992) was one of the first developers of this area. He was also President and Secretary of Tamworth Rotary as well as donating time and money to various worthwhile community projects around Tamworth. He built and owned what was possibly the first drive in shopping centre in rural N.S.W.
