Description

A reserve located between the eastern side of Brand Street and the western side of Captain Strom Place. It extends to the northern side of McKillop Place at Dundas. It occupies Lot 1627 of DP 214707.

Origin

Herbert J Rumsey (04.02.1866 - 01.02.1956) was a prominent local seed merchant. He arrived in Dundas in 1900 and sold seed by mail order. Rumsey wrote many books about gardening and became president of the Austrlian Association of Nurserymen and Seedsmen. (Kass T Liston C McClymont J Parramatta A Past Revealed p.258)
