Description
Township on the Blue Mountains Range within the City of Blue Mountains about 8 km NNW of Katoomba.
Origin
Named by Govenor Macquarie during his tour over the Blue Mountains in 1816. He seems to have named the area after the heath that grew there rather than after the London suburb. (Australian Place Names Kennedy 1992).
