Description
Non perennial stream in upper parts rising in the slopes around Glenarvon homestead then flowing generally north to west Tamworth and its intersection with the Peel River. It is about 20 miles in length and is crossed by the Sydney - Wallangarra Railway about 1 mile NE of Warrell.
Meaning
The name would appear to be of the Aboriginal Language of the district. Meaning unknown. The only word of near (not very near)
Origin
The name was in use in early 1850s and probably earlier. (W. Gardner as above) The parish is of late formation the name being taken from the stream.
