Description
A railway station on the City-Hurstville-Cronulla Line. It is about 1km SW by S of Arncliffe Railway Station and about 1km ENE of Bexley.
Origin
BANKSIA Opened 21/10/1906. Named after the plant Banksia or bottlebrush discovered by Sir Joseph Banks in 1770. The station name was first suggested by Mr David Stead the local railway league had been agitating for a station in this location for a number of years.
